This paper contains the knowledge obtained on the engineering course through the application of a homemade beer production process. Presented is the description of the manual step by step process, the modeling of the system used for the control and for the automation, the material used in all parts of the process and the programming involved for the embedded control system. Computational analysis of the results from measurements of the sensors aims to bring better understanding of the overall process. The process itself has been replicated by the students inside a laboratory using the specific sensing and actuation equipment defined, taking into account the details of the process itself, ranging from the choice of equipment to its connections and functions within the final system.
