Resumo:
This project portrays the use of FACTS SVC devices in the power factor s compensation for large consumers. First of all, there is a theoretical review of how occurs the correction of the power factor, among other aspects. After, it proposes a comparison between compensation methods, using them as an alternative to the traditional method, which applies switching capacitors and inductors banks. In a comparison, a SVC like TCR/FC and MSR/MSC are dimensioned, having PUC as a consumer of reference. Simulations and load data are generated. At the end shows, in general, the benefits and detriments in the operation and in the cost.
