Resumo:
A digital filter is a set of mathematical operations that manipulates a discrete signal. It has many applications in biomedicine, in instrumentation and several other areas, besides being an essential element of day to day electronics like radios and cell phones. Each design specification contributes to an error function that must be minimized, thereby making filter construction a complex task. A digital filter can be used as a prototype for the implementation of a filter bank, an array that allows the decomposition of the input signal into several sub-bands of frequencies that can be processed separately. The project consists of using the computational tool Matlab for the design of several types of digital filters and gathering them in a graphical interface. Its user will be able to, in addition to selecting parameters to build the filter, obtain a graphical preview and generate an output from a desired input. Moreover, a filter bank with reduced computational costs and an arbitrary number of channels is implemented with the Fast Fourier Transform algorithm.
