Resumo:
This study aims to identify the types and causes of conflicts present in projects of Brazilian companies. What are the factors that influence the generation of conflicts on projects? In which stages of the project are the most critical processes that can generate conflict among stakeholders? A literature review about the topic and a field survey were conducted to identify and compare the types of conflicts in the literature and in the research results. The research results showed a high level of correlation over the main types of conflicts in literature. Conflicts related to the definition of timeline appeared in the first place, both in literature and the results of the research. Finally, it was concluded that the project formalization tools are important to mitigate the risk of emergence of conflicts, however the interpersonal skills of managers are essential to perform effective conflict management.
