Resumo:
The objective of this work is to develop a semi-autonomous robot to compete in robot sumo tournaments, encompassing several areas of the Mechatronic Engeneering. Concepts of project and mechanic design applied to CAD and CAM (Computer Aided Design/Machining) Software, electronic interface development, manufacturing and machining techniques, as well as the application of control algorithms based on Fuzzy Logic were used. The robot navigates by its operator’s comand. When the robot’s sensors detect the opponent, the robot takes control and autonomously chases the other robot, in order to push it outside the arena, withouth falling itselft out as well.
