Historically, funding structures used for the development of the Brazilian real estate market are the savings accounts and guarantee funds. However, with the markets strong growth, due to the real estate boom, these traditional sources of funding will be unable to absorb the demand for mortgages. As a result, the market began to develop and use alternative credit instruments that are in strong growth. This paper presents the main characteristics of these instruments, which tend be important complementary sources to the traditional funding instruments, and check there level of market acceptance.
