Resumo:
The increase in the number of scholarships for studies undergraduate posed the question: will only college degree ensures employability of their owners, regardless of their social background? To better understand this issue we studied two renowned authors, who talk about different subjects, but both have views on the value of the diploma in their work. Bourdieu (2007) speaks of social stratification and the need for a global capital to give value to the diploma, and Schultz (1973) talks about the Theory of Human Capital, where years of education are treated as an investment, and the diploma has value in itself. In this sense, the study sought to identify the trajectory and how reality is viewed from graduates about the value of their diplomas on the labor market.
