Resumo:
The determination of optimal temperature profile in reaction systems is an important theme in industry, because of the fact that realizing a temperature optimal control in reactors can lead to a significant improvement of their performances. This present work had the purpose to adapt and apply optimization routines for the determination of the optimal temperature profile in a number of types of reaction systems. Codes were implemented to simulate packed bed reactors (PBR) and batch reactors, adapting an optimizer based on Particle Swarm Algorithm to determine the optimized temperature profile. All the routines were programmed in FORTRAN language. The studied examples were generated by hypothetical models and by reactions of industrial interest. The results obtained allow investigating the characteristics of many reaction systems as to their optimal profile, related to types of reactions and parameters values of reaction rates. The profiles obtained, when compared to similar cases in literature, reproduce qualitatively the results reported. The programmed codes will be integrated into a set of computer codes for future visual interface.
