Resumo:
Even with so many uncertainties, the stock market always has attracted investors desiring for greater profits, but also terrifies some of them by its low-predictable risks. In order to anticipate such risks, the Technical Analysis or Charting became popular. It aims on visually identifying geometrical patterns in price charts in order to anticipate price trends. By building a software tool, this study verifies if technical analysis is able to statistically predict market behavior (i.e. if prices tend to rise or fall, and for how long on average).
