Resumo:
This work is dedicated to the development of an equipment for charging and evaluation of the state of charge of Lead Acid batteries on photovoltaic systems, using a PIC microcontroller, and its motivation comes from the importance, variety and cost of those batteries in such systems. This work describes the main characteristics of lead acid batteries and how to charge them, as well as aspects related to the power and control circuits required for the charger equipment functions. Issues concerning the inter and intra system electromagnetic compatibility with design recommendations are included.
