The establishment of structures and equipment by means of bolted connections is widely used and requires a very careful design. As to workload, there are two types of bolted joints, joints and shear joints traction. The scope of this paper is limited only to study the second type of joint where the screws are predominantly in its working condition. A fastened joint has the function of withstanding the loads to maintain operation and tightening of the screw throughout its service life. To do this requires a suitable dimensioning of the bolts. The determination of the clamping preload is the basis for calculating the most concepts of calculating the union type. One of the main uncertainties in the design of a joint is fixed by screws determine the coefficient of rigidity of the components under compression in this union (such as plates and washers). Through the stiffness coefficients of the components of a joint is possible to understand the distribution of load resistance, fatigue life, etc. Based on the importance of this type of application in engineering, this paper aims to: present a criterion for the calculation of bolted joints, review the main references used in the calculation and design of rigidly fixed together by screws and develop an iterative algorithm for optimized selection of threaded fasteners using multiplatform software.
