Each and every day, the technology is ever more present in our lives, including marketing interactions between consumers and companies, what could generate a series of troubles in case the consumer is not ready for such an interaction. This paper applies the techniques developed by Parasuraman (2000) and Parasuraman and Colby (2001) to measure the technology readiness index of users of Deal-of-the-day type websites. This Methodology uses dimensions called mental drivers and mental inhibitors to measure the likelihood of an individual to adopt technology based products and services, through a quantitative research taken with 139 respondents based on a scale developed on the original study. A factor analysis was made to obtain the corresponding four dimensions of the technology readiness construct, followed by an variance analysis to assess the differences of TRI scores between groups of answers, according to their online consumption habits. The obtained results indicate a sample with a slightly larger technology readiness in comparison with the original Parasuraman (2000) study. Even though it was not possible to establish statistically significant diferences between the groups of users and non users of Deal-of-the-day type websites.
