The trend of using alternative sources of energy had a positive impact on
the Brazilian biodiesel industry, which was specifically supported by the Brazilian
Government by means of programs such as the National Program of Biodiesel
Production and Utilization. Nowadays the sector indicates an installed capacity of
biodiesel production exceeding the demand for the biofuel by 67 per cent, which
resulted in a loss of value for the biodiesel companies.
The current study aims to analyze the value of a biodiesel producer with
one plant located in the State of Goiás according to the valuation techniques
presented throughout this document.
