The prices in the Brazilian real estate market have been going up in the latest years. Amongst the various factors which motivate this booming, can be mention the stability of the Brazilian currency, the socio-economic development of the population and also the access to mortgage with low interest rates.
Besides the favorable macroeconomic conditions, some others factors such as the 2014 World Cup and the Olympic Games in 2016 as well as the interest of several companies related to the exploration of the pre-salt have been cooperating to heat the market.
Therefore, this work intends to understand the current scenery of the Brazilian real estate market and the reasons why this market is so over-valued. It also intend to analyze the American real estate market so as to discover the motives for the 2008 crisis. Once it has analyzed both markets separately, the work aim to make a comparison between them and verify their differences and similarities.
