Resumo:
This work consists in the application of the Newton-Raphson method for power system load flow calculation. Two versions of the method are considered: the original, in which the Jacobian matrix changes at each iteration, and a modified version with the Jacobian kept constant during the whole iterative process. Two programming codes were developed in MATLAB to calculate the power flow one for each version of the method. Two test systems were considered: a 5-bus system and a 10-bus system. EXCEL was the tool used to provide the data of the systems to MATLAB. Considering the results, it is possible to check the efficacy of the methods in the load flow calculation and the performance of both analysed versions (original and modified).
