Resumo:
The popularization of multi-core computers have contributed to spread interest in parallel computing. However, current models for concurrent programming are subject to recurrent criticisms, which stimulates the development of alternative proposals. The object of this research is the luaproc library, created as a model for concurrent programming structured with the Lua programming language. This work presents a brief summary of studies about concurrent programming. It then, describes the functionalities and how to use the library luaproc and details the improvements made and their motivations. Finally, presents the results of some evaluations.
