Resumo:
This work aims to compare two implementations based on CORBA of a file server written in two different languages, Java and Lua. One of the system s key characteristics is its high scalability, allowing access and manipulation of a large amount of files simultaneously without a significant increase of memory use. The system also allows definitions of mount points so that different servers in different machines may interact. Another feature is its extensibility, mainly regarding the file copy/transfer methods, allowing new methods to be easily added.
