Resumo:
This work is the subject of succession of positions in family businesses. Its main objective is to find the difficulties of carrying out the succession in particular the group's Panoceanic. The main difficulties encountered by such organization referred to the transfer of power from one generation to another, the obstacles to the development of the process of professionalization and family conflicts. Based on the literature was a case study, being divided into two procedures. The first concerns the study of the concepts of literature studied, with the theme of family business and succession process in these organizations. The second refers to a case study based on a qualitative research with personal interviews guided by a structured instrument. It is the work with the presentation of the difficulties related to the succession within the group Panoceanic, with the emphasis on the lack of planning process, the incompatibility of vision among the successors to the founding in relation to the company structure and centralization of power in hand of the founders.
