Metaphorical study that intends to explain the
Organizational Decision Process using analogies such as the
conquest of the South Pole history at the
beginning of the XX century. Introducing the adopted
methodology, the study intends to report, as study
cases, the pole expeditions of Roald Amundsen, Robert
Falcon Scott and Ernest Shackleton. This report are going
to be used as example for the next step where
the process of decision is going to be analyzed through
conventional theories, corporative examples and other
examples derived from the expeditions
mentioned. As complement of the analysis, the study is
going to approach human characteristic which are essential
to understand the reasons that make managers
to adopt certain decisions. At least, is going to be
answered the proposed question that intends to understand
how the conquests of the South Pole
expeditions can be used as metaphor for the understanding
of the Organizational Decision Process.
