Energy losses, known as cats are considered an important characteristic of companies of the energy sector. The reduction of the losts percentage is discussed among organizations since it has being a form to reduce companies income. In this study about Light SA, through its valuation, it is tested if the investment necessary for the decrease of these losses will impact company s valuation. Valuation should be based on the discounted cash flows to present value that will generate the company s value. The analysis will be split in 2 scenarios. The first one will be projected without the project of the reduction of losses by using market assumptions. The second one will consider the project to reduce losses and the impact on a higher income provided by households. Finally by comparing the company s value based on the ideas proposed it would be verified if the company would really have strength to diminish these losses percentage and increase its market value.
