|
The research had the major object to study the influence of
the tempering after
quenching on the mechanical properties of a R4 structural
steel, used on the anchor system of
offshore platforms. The steel was heat treated into
different conditions of time and temperature
of tempering. After that, it had been tested its traction
and impact resistances in order to measure
the steels basics mechanical properties. The results
showed how these mechanical properties had
been influenced by the parameters of time and temperature
of heat treatment.
