A procedure for centrifugal axial clutches (CENTAX) design
was developed. This
procedure consists in the use of three hardwired
independent programs through a routine
developed in Matlab.
Initially the designer fills a table in Excel with
parameters necessary to the simulation to
be done by the Matlab. These parameters are: data of the
initial geometry of the clutch, data of
the materials to be used in the construction of the clutch,
engine power curve, or the set from the
clutch will receive power and data from the joint load,
that is, of the system which the clutch will
transmit power.
In such a way, when initiating the program in Matlab, this
will execute the reading of the
initial data in Excel, that in set with the Simulink will
process them returning through graphs
from coupling force, rotation and transmitted torque, the
results of the simulation. In the case of
the results are not in accordance with the specifications,
the designer has the option of
redimensioning the clutch modifying the initial values in
Excel and restarting the program in
Matlab. This part of the procedure could be repeated until
the answers of the system are in
accordance with its objectives.
A chosen time the dimensions of the clutch, the designer
initiates the Solid Works, as the
drawing technician in 3D and the plants are parametric with
the same spread sheet in Excel,
these already will be redimensioning and duly quoted, ready
for the impression and sending for
the production line and therefore, the sequence of tests.
