Resumo: | |||||||||||||
This research proposes a multidimensional investigation of colors and howthey affect us. Each color radiates a series of issues (historical, symbolic, scientific,artistic, technical, political, etc.). When discussed and hybridized in the thesis essays (divided by color: green, blue, yellow, and red), these issues seek to sharpenthe possible readings and the esthetic-poetic awareness promoted by the color. The essays highlight the presence of color in literature (black letters on whitebackground), based on works of different authors, and in music (sound), especially based on Caetano Veloso s songs, in which color is an eloquent element. The workis founded on theoretical reflections on color, focusing on the research of French historian Michel Pastoureau, a reference in the study of chromatism and its different historical and cultural valences. Thus, the thesis sets out to investigate – not vertically or linked to any single object, but rather merging different dimensions ofcolor, considering its ubiquitous and timeless character – how colors touch and can touch people; how they affect us, even when they re written or heard. The work includes a diary in which the author discusses her own songwriting process. Themain theme of her songs are the colors, so that the diary presents a crosswise discussion of chromatic s in art making.
