Vida de otário: A saída dos operários da fábrica de
Lumière consists of
the analysis of representations of labor within
contemporary Brazilian cinema,
considering the changes in the sphere of global culture
and economy during the
1990s. Movies released in the beginning of the present
century are contrasted with
national films from the 1960s, 70s and 80s in order to
verify how the fading of the
idea of utopia which inspired the modern project has
affected the place occupied
by the figure of the laborer in Lumière`s factory.
