Resumo:
This study aims to explore the relationship between psychological safety and the learning culture within organizations, considering the ongoing context of change and innovation in the workplace. The organizational literature has shown that environments with higher levels of psychological safety also tend to foster a learning culture, characterized by open communication, the recognition of mistakes, and the exchange of ideas. In this sense, psychological safety plays a fundamental role, as it allows employees to express their opinions, share knowledge, and take interpersonal risks without fear of punishment or judgment. To investigate this relationship, 25 semi-structured interviews were conducted with members from different work teams, companies, and industries. Based on the content analysis of these interviews, patterns and challenges were identified in the development of an organizational environment that supports learning. The results were divided into distinct categories: employees perceptions regarding psychological safety and learning culture; support and interventions related to these elements; and the consequences of psychological safety and learning culture. The findings revealed that a psychologically safe environment encourages a strong learning culture within organizations. This positive team climate benefits individuals, groups, and the organization as a whole. In addition, the study contributes to a better understanding of how psychological safety influences learning culture in the workplace.
