Resumo: | |||||||||||||
The variety of proposals for Christian life can be challenging to discern what
constitutes the abundant life Jesus promised. To live this daily, a spirituality that
contemplates and acts is necessary, one that strives to climb God s mountain
attracted by grace but also descends courageously, moved by compassion. This
process of spiritual growth and connection with the divine begins with a
fundamental connection to God, which is accessible to all who seek Him in their
own language, through metaphorical windows, true interfaces of the transcendent,
and existentially privileged places where contemplation becomes more perceptible.
Great figures in the history of Christian mysticism have indicated a process to be
traversed. Thus, the vocation of a disciple of Christ is to become a better human,
modeling their master. This process occurs in the Holy Spirit, and through the
Scriptures, a source of happiness for the being, where Thomas Merton finds a living
You. He serves as a practical example through his life and work to discern how
Jesus has been perceived and experienced in the experiences and research on this
life. He constantly sought God s will without distancing himself from human reality,
always open to changes. His encounters and dialogues served as catalysts for
personal transformation, whether in the context of relationships with peers,
disciples, literature, or travel. His influences guided him toward a profound
appreciation for nature, a deeper examination of his inner self, and ultimately, the
discovery of God, the Supreme Good, and the ultimate happiness derived from Him.
An abundant life fosters a reality that integrates the conception of a spiritually,
psychologically heathy, ecologically holistic, and performative.
