Resumo:
This work aims to investigate the figure of the clown of Folia de Reis, a character who was born in a field of tension, in which the Christian religion and Afro-indigenous rites are in dispute. However, it is in the fracture of a hegemonic monumental narrative that a player emerges capable of teaching us that it is possible for such forces to act not in the dilution and erasure of knowledge, but in the addition. Within some Folias, sometimes the clown s performances are related to the imaginary of the orixá Exu, revealing interfaces with practices from the field of Afro-diasporic religions, highlighting the key to inversion and transgression. It is necessary to understand it as a reading vector for a Brazil of small things (power of delicacies), which hosts within itself different cultural and religious vectors, forged in the dimension of remaking in spiral time, at the confluences and crossroads of history. This research revisits him outside of the folklore key, recognizing him as an epistemic agent capable of founding, in his anarchic relationship with the hegemonic space, enchanted territorialities that transcend any purist or reductionist belief from a religious point of view, or that intend to simplify the rite, or dissociate what is sacred from the profane.
