Resumo:
Teaching History through images is still a practice rarely used in the classroom. This research, from the perspective of the Didactics of History proposed by historian Jörn Rüssen, aims to discuss how the use of drawing can be utilized for learning historical temporality, a knowledge object proposed by the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). The research stems from a classroom practice with 6th-grade students, which I have developed and used since 1999 when I began my professional career. This practice consists of developing a History teaching workshop entitled Shall we learn (your) History? with the objectives of making students coming from the initial years find meaning in learning History through their own experiences and memories. Creating a bond with the students is the first step to putting the Didactics of History into practice. This research will use the intellectual production of the students, narrated pictorially, as a source to prove the effective historical learning from their historical consciousness. The drawing workshop was held between February and March 2024 at GET Writer Millôr Fernandes, located in Maré, Rio de Janeiro.
