Resumo:
This dissertation is a study of bullying as school violence. Since the problematization of bullying arrived in Brazil following studies on school violence in the 90s, along with the popularization of Dan Olweus; studies, and the visibility of media about massacres, homicides and suicides related to school violence. We have tried to emphasize here the role of the human rights of children and adolescents in education, which has led to a new understanding on the part of children and adolescents of the rights of young people and changes in public policy in the countries concerned. As a result of the ratified human rights treaties, member countries have paid attention to expanding access to school and ensuring that pupils stay in school. It is in this context of school massification and school democratization that questions arise about school violence, and perhaps one of the most treacherous forms of school violence is bullying. An analysis of international reports such as those by the UN, UNESCO and UNICEF will be carried out here in order to understand the problematization of the phenomenon, as well as a bibliographical survey on the subject. On the other hand, the aim is to sociologize the conceptualization of bullying, recognizing it as part of group dynamics which include power struggles, aggressive behaviour and stigmatization. Here, we identify the topic s frontier with the field of psychology, valuing the importance of concepts such as stress, adaptive environment and reputational gains, which foster debate.
