Resumo:
The present master s thesis aims to map the annals of the Brazilian Congress of Social Workers (CBAS) from 2001 and 2022. In addition, it proposes to examine the discussion about the professional work of social workers in the socio-legal field through the analysis of the academic-professional production on this socio-occupational space. For the study presented here, surveys were developed in the annals of the X Brazilian Congress of Social Workers - CBAS (2001) and the XVII Brazilian Congress of Social Workers (2022). Contributions from the group formed by the Federal Council of Social Service (CFESS) and the Regional Councils of Social Service (CRESS) regarding socio-legal issues in the area of Social Service were also considered, as well as the repercussions of the societal context of the Covid-19 pandemic in this field of professional activity. Considering the periods studied in the annals of the Brazilian Congress of Social Workers (CBAS), there was a reduced number of academic-professional productions on this occupational space, despite the fact that the 2001 CBAS was an important milestone for reflections on socio-legal issues. Furthermore, the study indicated the need for continued debate on professional work in socio-legal issues, o it is detrimental to both professionals and students of Social Work if there are no more spaces for reflection, events and academic-professional production on a continuous basis on this topic, which has been an important area of work for Social Work since its establishment as a profession in Brazil.
