Resumo:
In modern organizations, including key sectors of public transportation, servant leadership has emerged as a useful and influential leadership style. This style focuses on the growth and well-being of employees and has stood out in academic literature for its ability to positively affect various facets of the work environment. In this approach, leaders not only seek to achieve organizational goals but are also deeply committed to the growth and satisfaction of their team s employees. Given this context, we have the following research problem: Does servant leadership indeed promote job satisfaction and work integration? To answer this research question, the following objective was proposed: To investigate the impact of servant leadership on job satisfaction and work integration among the employees of the Rio de Janeiro State Metro. Furthermore, the moderating effect of the follower s Neuroticism in these relationships was tested. To achieve these objectives, a quantitative survey was conducted with 251 participants, and the analysis is based on the application of multivariate regression to the collected data. The results confirm the hypotheses that servant leadership and job satisfaction are related to work integration. However, neuroticism does not moderate the relationship between servant leadership and job satisfaction. The contribution to managers who adopt a comprehensive approach to leadership and corporate culture is highlighted by this interdependence proven in this research. Using servant leadership as a means to increase job satisfaction can act as a strategic mechanism to enhance work integration.
