This dissertation aims to reflect on a preliminary conceptual formulation
that I call cenomatography, developed from the undergraduate degree in
Performing Arts, completed in 2021 at PUC-Rio. In this work I propose a
discussion about artistic genres such as theater, cinema, performance, music and
audiovisual with the aim of understanding some hybridization processes. I
propose to outline a path of discussions about contemporary times and current
technological means, which have strongly contributed to the production of artistic
materials in the context of the covid-19 pandemic. Using as a reference three
distinct productions produced in this period, I seek to cover academic discussions
to examine cultural manifestations that took place in the recent past: the first is a
virtually reproduced play entitled Vozes do Silêncio - Filme não Filme (2021),
directed by Fábio Ferreira with acting by Carolina Virgüez, available on the Zoom
platform; the second is the album Inbred (2021) and the video clips generated
from the songs of singer Ethel Cain and the third production is that of actress
Isabela Mariotto, from Teatro Oficina Uzyna Uzona, who maintains a character on
the social network Instagram, a social network where has been recording his
videos since the beginning of the pandemic, in 2020. The proposal is to develop
an analytical and comparative reading of cultural objects produced, during the
pandemic, by these artists, seeking, at the same time, the preliminary development
of cenomatography as a possible concept.
