The dissertation deals with socio-environmental issues in the Alto Gávea
region, Rio de Janeiro, based on the relationship between the Parque Municipal da
Cidade na dthe Comunidade Vila Parque da Cidade. The hypothesis is that the
residents of the community built a particular form with the territory, of a community
nature. The aim is to discuss issues related to environmental preservation, housing
and access to social rights. The work uses qualitative methodology and was carried
out based on bibliographical research, field work and interviews.
