This master s dissertation explores the selection of the Ministers of the Brazil s Federal Supreme Court. It intents to offer a descriptive and detailed study about the data and discussions about the subject. In order to do that, four topics were elaborated and concatenated. Firstly, the legal aspects of the progression of selection and the norms that grounds the current relevancy of the Supreme Court and it s judges are presented. Following, that analysis is expanded with the demonstration of the pratical aplication of the norm by it s official competent agents. As that attracts a lot of debates in the academic literature, the third item is responsible for classifying the existing critics about the current model. Lastly, the same is done with the propositions for reforming the system, by filtering and organizing the Constitucional Amendment Proposals related to the theme.
