Resumo:
The present dissertation The influence of Gramscian thought on the Congresso da Virada of Social Work in 1979 consists of a pioneering analysis of the influence of Gramscian thought in the III Brazilian Congress of Social Workers (CBAS), verified through the annals of this event. Given the rarity of this document, it is an important historical rescue for Social Service. Gramsci is a classic for the human and social sciences, especially for Social Work, and his theory and categories are used in theoretical debates, in disciplines, and in class struggles. The Sardinian philosopher had a strong influence on intellectuals and activists since the 1970s, when his thought started to be more widespread in Brazil. The presence of Gramscian ideas in the academic and political level of Social Service was a phenomenon of great proportion, and the Italian philosopher was incorporated into the theoretical bases of the profession, which was passing by a theoretical and methodological revision. The 1979 Congress was a determining moment in this process, in which social workers made an ethical-political commitment to the working class. The appropriation of the historical past of our profession and the analysis of Gramscian categories as instruments of struggle to resist in the present. Researching the past is important to keep the historical memory of Social Service active, so that our achievements are not forgotten. Thus, it is a way to prevent the dememory from being used by the dominant class against the commitment that our category signed with the working class in the Congresso da Virada, in 1979. This dissertation privileged documentary and bibliographical research. Realizing a compared analysis of Gramsci s influence in the annals of the III CBAS, we tried to understand the original meanings of Gramsci s categories and their translatability in the referred annals. Thus, the analysis affirmed the commitment and respect for what was in fact written by Gramsci, with the historical ground, the class character and the way in which the author expressed himself.
