The dissertation objective is to analyze Nosso Século Collection, aiming to identify characteristics and elements that allow us to substantiate it as work of cultural mediation. The mediating intellectual category will also be object of analysis, considering that intellectuals who worked at Nosso Século had, as objective, a political-cultural project aimed at spreading historic knowledge about Brazilian Contemporary History to a broad public, practice typical of cultural mediation and work of mediating intellectuals. For the study of Nosso Século Collection, a work published in 1980, by Abril Cultural Publishing Company, in the form of installments sold through newsstands, the dissertation opted for analysis of its contents and the historical sources used for the collection development, in addition to oral interviews with professionals who worked in this cultural production in various functions and cultural practices.
