Resumo:
The family, over time, has undergone changes resulting from the social and cultural context, adapting to the new realities arising, for example, from the diversity of customs and recent scientific discoveries, which directly influenced its way of structuring and functioning. Thus, contemporaneity provided visibility to the countless family configurations, among them the homoparental, which is crossed by the social stigmas that fall on homosexuals, generating challenges for the exercise of parenting. This dissertation aims to investigate the exercise of parenting in male homoparental. For this, the qualitative research methodology was used. Ten homosexual cisgender men who don t have children from previous heterosexual relationships, were interviewed. From the analysis of the discursive material of the interviews conducted with the participants, five categories emerged: Desire to be a father; Focusing on adoption; Talking about homoparenthood with the children; Crossings of heteronormativity; and Valorization of the support network. The category Desire to be a father gave rise to the subcategory Desconstructing the imagined child and the category Crossings of heteronormativity originated the subcategories Experiences of prejudice and Sharing of parental care. It was found that these families experience challenges to perform the care of their children in public environments, such as the absence of adequate spaces for hygiene. The main route chosen to implement the parental project by these couples was adoption, with wide flexibility in relation to the profile od the child to be adopted. Moreover, it was concluded that, despite the distancing of some family members and the search for autonomy in the care of children, these families conside have a consistent support network and support promoter; forned mainly by the family of origin and friends. It was concluded that the exercise of parenting by male homoparental families is crossed by heteronormative patterns of relationship, generating experiences of prejudice and interfering in the organization of parental care.
