Resumo:
In a scenario of continuous displacements, due to situations of generalized violence in the country of origin, we find subjects living in exile with the memories of their homeland, as something left behind and forever. This crack in the social envelope, which the motherland leaves in her children, causes an incurable wound, leading to situations of helplessness, loss and damage. This research, presented in the format of two articles, aimed to investigate the crosscultural parenting of couples in exile, with their first child born in Brazilian territory. To achieve the proposed objectives, four couples were interviewed, three coming from the same South American country and one from an African country. Each spouse was interviewed individually, configuring a total of eight people (n equal 8). The interviews were analyzed according to the method of content analysis. It was found that for these couples, the first experience of parenthood represented a powerful creation of a new world, founded between the lasting and the ephemeral, the past and the present, allowing the repair of the void to which exile drove them.
