The dissertation proposes a reflection on the garments production for obese adolescents, considering the production mode configuration, the increasing number of users in the condition of being overweight and the way in which the brands elaborate their fashion products. Part of the discussion aims to broaden the debate about the beauty standards of the fashion market, besides questioning if the clothing offered serves these adolescents. Among the proposed methods and techniques is a bibliographical review of the changes in the children and adolescents social space over the centuries, a study on social practices such as beauty and self-care that influence the relationship of these adolescents with their bodies, closing with a reflection on the professional design practice within the capitalist mode of production and the labour activity of designing clothes for users. The research theme has relevance to the design area, particularly in the fashion field.
