This essay proposes a rereading of the works of four modern Brazilian
architects - Lucio Costa, Affonso Eduardo Reidy, Oscar Niemeyer, and Paulo
Mendes da Rocha - from a technical perspective. The study is based directly on
the experience of these works and seeks to identify some of the solutions that have
made possible the achievement of an ingenious production, despite the difficult
task of conciliating the theory of international modern architectural project with
Brazilian building construction technology.
