Resumo:
This thesis aims to analyze the news framing used by the press during the coverage of Dilma Rousseff s impeachment. The study is based on agenda-setting and news framing theories by the press, particularly in magazines, as well as feminist studies on the role of women in society, especially in politics. The quantitative and qualitative researches uses articles from Veja and IstoÉ magazines, in which Dilma was cited in the cover stories. After data collection, the analysis focuses on the possible sexist news framing used by the press to refer to the first female president in Brazil.
