This work aims at a better understanding of the paraffin deposition mechanism in oil production lines. This knowledge can be very helpful in maintenance activities and to perform economical feasibility studies of exploration of oil fields. Experimental results were used to adjust e numerical simulator developed at PUC-Rio to a number of different oils. Deposition experiments for several conditions and oils were performed. The flow regime imposed was a liquid single-phase. Comparisons between experimental results and numerical predictions showed reasonable agreement.
