The so-called inclusive churches are a contemporary religious movement in the Brazilian society. Formed by a majority of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people (LGBTs), these churches break with the traditional logic of the hegemonic Christian churches, which consider that the sexualities and dissidents genders as sinful and reprehensible. Igreja da Comunidade Metropolitana (The Metropolitan Community Church) and Comunidade Cidade de Refúgio (The City of Refuge Community) – religious communities located in the city of São Paulo are different examples of this religious movement, fighting for, each one with its dogmatic specificities, supporting LGBT people inclusion within their assemblies.
