Resumo:
This interventional research recounts the process of collectively reconstructing the memory of Córrego dos Januários, a small village located in the eastern region of Minas Gerais State, in the municipality of Inhapim. Such process has involved different authors and actors, who have joined with the inhabitants of this village aiming at designing a space where objects, images, words, and thoughts could find a home, a space where the materialities created by men could conquer a place in the future. Thus, the House of Memory and Culture at Córrego dos Januários was idealized created and finally opened in August 2008. It is worth emphasizing that this is a polyphonic text, in which multiple voices undoubtedly coexist, giving contour and depth to the conception of history, narrative memory, aesthetics of delicatenesse and testimony. Among the main authors, Walter Benjamin, Maurice Halbwachs, Mikhail Bakhtin, Hannah Arendt, Michel de Certeau, Michel Pollak, Ecléa Bosi, Paul Thompson, Jeanne Marie Gagnebin, Marcio Seligman-Silva, Mario de Souza Chagas, among others, can be highlighted, in addition to many voices in Córrego dos Januários, people who have intenselyparticipated in the construction of this mosaic of memories. During this journey of memory, we are faced with the etymological origin of the name Januário: the Roman god Janus. The allegorical image of Janus the two-faced god, led us through a deeper river of memory and, with him, we reaffirm our thesis taht the House of Memory is originated at an intersection of times and that our greatest theaoreticfal and methodological effort was to make it, together with the Januários, an are where the call for happiness of the present shall be hard.
