This dissertation aims to analyze subjectivity regarding the city vis-à-vis the cartographic intervention research method. It takes subjectivity into consideration at its procedural and productive levels and affirms the need of an attentive opening of the body to the collective level of forces which constitute the urban space and the processes of subjectivity. The cartographer s state of body is thus crucial. The conceptual production of Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze, Suely Rolnik and Félix Guattari supports the affirmation of an intensive relationship with the city, accompanied by knowledge corporification processes, which constitute productive affectability regimes of multiple modes of existence, way beyong the trivial sensitive function. This paper uses literature as a theorecal and methodological tool and presentes essays on urban experiences of a flâneur-cartographer in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in which the aesthetic dimension and its relationship with the mutations of human sensitivity are addressed as a social and poliitical issue of crucial important to contemporary urban matters.
