Resumo:
The present study aims to analyze the resistance strategies of inhabitant women in a Baixada Fluminense s slum before gender violence situations in their affective-sexual relations with their companions/intimate partners. It is a research with qualitative approach, whose instruments for data production were field journal and narrative interviews, conducted during the first semester of 2015, in such a way to acknowledge how poor women, placed out of the formal labor market, with elementary educational level or lower, and inhabitants of a territory that is vulnerable and jeopardized by structural violence, realize their experiences and stories. The theoretical-methodological resources for data analysis are based upon the theoretical system developed by Pierre Bourdieu, comprised of habitus, cultural capital and field concepts, in composition with studies of anthropology, sociology, gender, violence and family. The results point to the existence of violence confronting means by women, from strategies built by them in the sociocultural context of which they are part, enabling the rise of questions about essentialist, binary and judicial control explanations.
