The aim of the dissertation is to contribute to the incorporation of sustainability into exploitation strategies of the Atlantic Rainforest from the valuation of resources and ecosystem services of Euterpe edulis Martius. In the context of evaluating the alignment of business with innovative national and international principles of sustainable development, it is considered that this work will contribute to the sustainable use and exploitation of Atlantic Tropical Forest. To this end was adopted as a case study of the project titled Amável, the Sustainable Atlantic Rainforest (Amável), located in an environmentally protected area of the Serrinha Alambari, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The methodology includes: (i) bibliographic and documentary research on the Atlantic Rainforest and regulatory frameworks at the national and international levels, (ii) field research in the area of environmental preservation of the Serrinha Alambari, (iii) assessment of sustainability activities performed by Amável (iv) formulation of recommendations for those involved and interested, (v) propose metrics to estimate inventories of carbon capture from Euterpe edulis Martius. Results stand out as: (i) that Amável can be considered a innovative business model, (ii) that inventories of carbon capture Euterpe edulis Martius can be obtained from equations of direct practical applicability and (iii) Euterpe edulis Martius which is a kind of key regeneration, preservation and strengthening of the Atlantic Rainforest and (iv) that the development contributes to a sustainable productive harmonious coexistence between man (as a citizen) and nature (while their natural habitat).
