Resumo:
This study aims a critical examination of the notion of project methodology in the Design field. Considering the iterant conception in which project methodology determines the north of the field, to be precise, that it corresponds to its definition as an area of knowledge and professional practice; it becomes necessary an analysis of the aforementioned notion and its surroundings, specially the epistemological and political ones. Therefore, the study starts with the development of a socio-philosophical corpus, with aims of building the critical apparatus. After that, the study continues with a historiography of the project methodology notion in the Design field, from its earliest conception up to contemporary times, both in international and national spheres, aiming a better understanding and contextualization of the studied situation. Next, in order to investigate and confirm the already mentioned points, concrete situations are analyzed: the project methodology notions found in papers of the most significant scientific event in Brazil, the PeD, with biannual editions in a delimited clipping of 10 years (2002-2012, 6 editions). From these data, it is developed a critical text, with the intent of demystifying the status quo of project methodology as the north of the Design field and all its subsequent implications.
