Resumo:
The following Master dissertation seeks to answer in which way the energy supply crisis in the years 2000 affected the formulation of the German Energy Policy. The energy crisis were a result of Oil and Natural Gas price dispute transported from Russia through the so called transit countries, such as Ukraine, Belarus and Poland to the countries in Western Europe. Due to Natural Gas and Oil supply cuts coming from Russia, Germany saw itself facing a challenge, to seek new routes to the receiving of energy, seek new partners and modify its energy infrastructure to increase its internal energy production in order to modify the energy demand side, increasing its bargain power in the world energy market and reducing its vulnerability to energy cuts, from Russia and others energy exporters. This study defends the Argument that these crises were key events in the actual political changes seek by Germany to modify a large part of its energy matrix and its energy partners.
