Resumo:
Autism is a global development disorder that affects children s ability to communicate, to establish relationships and to respond appropriately to the environment. Within Computer Science, the area of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) can assist in building high quality tools that can help the development of children with autism. This work aims to analyze the impact of a computer game developed exclusively to help children with autism in vocabulary acquisition. The results obtained show that children were able to effectively learn new words. Evidence of generalization and retention has been shown.
